A lot of busy work going on around Louth

The Argus - - OPINION -

QUIETLY there is a huge amount of work going on around the town streets and perimeter roads to tidy verges and hedgerows up before the new growing season.

Over recent weeks I have spotted workers in high-visibility jackets and armed with red refuse sacks in various locations throughout the area.

These workers are picking up litter and sweeping up rotting leaves and dirt which accumulates at this time of year.

The work isn’t that easy in the cold and damp of winter and is certainly not glamorous but has been ongoing in recent weeks and Louth County Council have informed that similar works under the Jobs Initiative Scheme has been going on throughout the county with a concerted effort having taken place on the northside of Drogheda.

Well done to all concerned.
