Two lo­cal venues scoop top awards at Ir­ish Pub re­gion­als

Some of the finest pubs from across the North East are cel­e­brat­ing af­ter com­ing out on top at the Ir­ish Pub Awards 2017 re­gional fi­nals,

The re­gional awards took place in The Squeal­ing Pig Res­tau­rant and Bar, Mon­aghan on Wed­nes­day last.

With a host of Louth pubs nom­i­nated for the awards, it was a great op­por­tu­nity for lo­cal busi­nesses to cel­e­brate.

The win­ners in the North East (Louth) in­cluded the Best Mu­sic Pub spon­sored by IMRO, which went to the PJ O’Hare’s in Car­ling­ford.

The high sought af­ter award for ‘ Best Tourist Pub’ spon­sored by Mol­son Coors also went to PJ O’Hare’s. The north Louth pub has be­come one of the most pop­u­lar in the area over re­cent years, for tourists and lo­cals alike, es­tab­lish­ing it­self as an en­ter­tain­ment venue as well as a top eaterie.

Mean­while the award for ‘Best Out­door Space’ spon­sored by Bul­mers went to Rus­sell’s Saloon, Park Street, Dun­dalk.

The cov­eted Out­stand­ing Cus­tomer Ser­vice award spon­sored by Heineken, also went to Rus­sell’s Saloon.

The Dun­dalk pub also known as Rus­sell’s Salon ‘Gin Em­po­rium’ is a hugely pop­u­lar town cen­tre venue, and at­tracts cus­tomers from far and wide to the im­pres­sive out­door ‘Gin gar­den.’

The two lo­cal win­ners will now join those from across the re­gion in go­ing for­ward to the Na­tional Awards cer­e­mony, which takes place in Dublin on Novem­ber 8th.
