Two local venues scoop top awards at Irish Pub regionals
Some of the finest pubs from across the North East are celebrating after coming out on top at the Irish Pub Awards 2017 regional finals,
The regional awards took place in The Squealing Pig Restaurant and Bar, Monaghan on Wednesday last.
With a host of Louth pubs nominated for the awards, it was a great opportunity for local businesses to celebrate.
The winners in the North East (Louth) included the Best Music Pub sponsored by IMRO, which went to the PJ O’Hare’s in Carlingford.
The high sought after award for ‘ Best Tourist Pub’ sponsored by Molson Coors also went to PJ O’Hare’s. The north Louth pub has become one of the most popular in the area over recent years, for tourists and locals alike, establishing itself as an entertainment venue as well as a top eaterie.
Meanwhile the award for ‘Best Outdoor Space’ sponsored by Bulmers went to Russell’s Saloon, Park Street, Dundalk.
The coveted Outstanding Customer Service award sponsored by Heineken, also went to Russell’s Saloon.
The Dundalk pub also known as Russell’s Salon ‘Gin Emporium’ is a hugely popular town centre venue, and attracts customers from far and wide to the impressive outdoor ‘Gin garden.’
The two local winners will now join those from across the region in going forward to the National Awards ceremony, which takes place in Dublin on November 8th.
