DUNDALKGAELS

THE flags are out and the excitement rising as Sunday’s county final draws closer. There’s been a tremendous buzz around the club since the semi-final, and all are looking forward to the trip to Drogheda. Buses are being laid on for juveniles, their parents and supporters, and hundreds more are expected to travel by car.

There’s been a great demand for flags, bunting and other gear from the shop we’ve set up in the clubrooms, and throughout the past week, club members have been busy bedecking the streets and roads in our area.

The team has been busy on the training grounds under the supervision of Malachy O’Rourke and his assistants, Niall Lambert, Pat McCann and Noel Sweeney. It’s expected the lads will have a full panel from which to name the club’s first senior final line-out in a quarter of a century.

Good luck to captain, Derek Crilly, and his colleagues. They go into the final knowing they won’t lack for support.

The club’s ordinary business hasn’t been ignored amid all the excitement. The lotto draw took place as usual last Tuesday night, and the numbers drawn were 3, 11, 17, 18. No jackpot winner. One match-3, Helen Toal. Tonight’s jackpot is €9,700.

GERALDINES
