If you fancy set­ting off for a day out, there are lots of Christ­mas mar­kets and craft fairs fur­ther afield which are well worth vis­it­ing. Drogheda

The very pop­u­lar Cot­tage Mar­ket will have a very spe­cial Christ­mas edi­tion on Sat­ur­day De­cem­ber 99th with lots of lo­cally pro­duced crafts and food.


The Christ­mas Mar­kets take place in the Phoenix Cen­tre, Car­rick­macross on Sat­ur­day De­cem­ber 2nd from 11am - 6pm and on Sun­day De­cem­ber 3rd from 12 - 6pm.


Fol­low­ing suc­cess of the Hal­loween Twilight Mar­ket, Newry, Mourne and Down District Coun­cil will be host­ing a Christ­mas Twilight Mar­ket in Newry Va­ri­ety Mar­ket on Fri­day 8 De­cem­ber from 5pm to 10pm.


No where does Christ­mas like Ar­magh! The city draws on its past for the much loved Geor­gian Fes­ti­val which runs over the week­end of Novem­ber 24th to 26th. On Geor­gian Day, Sat­ur­day Novem­ber 25th, visi­tors are in­vited to step back in time into a Geor­gian win­ter won­der­land as the his­toric streets are trans­ported back to the by­gone era. Visi­tors can in­dulge in sea­sonal treats and en­ter­tain­ment at the fes­tive mar­ket stalls, hosted by traders in tra­di­tional cos­tume and of­fer­ing high qual­ity gifts and lo­cally pro­duced, ar­ti­san food and drink, and there’s even a spe­cially themed Chil­dren’s Mar­ket. As dark­ness falls, the dra­matic ‘ Five Gold Rings!’ light show il­lu­mi­nates the back­drop of the Geor­gian Mar­ket House. Themed walks, talks and work­shops run over the week­end. There will be lots of fun for all the fam­ily in Ban­bridge when the lights are switched on for the town’s Twilight Mar­ket and Mak­ers’ Fayre on Fri­day Novem­ber 24th from 6.30pm.

The town will have lots of fun en­ter­tain­ment from 6.30pm on­wards, mu­sic and ar­rival of Santa Claus with Christ­mas Mar­ket and Mak­ers Fayre


Ark Com­mu­nity Gar­dens Win­ter Mar­ket with plant stalls, crafts, food, and Christ­mas car­ols, toasted marsh­mal­lows and warm­ing sea­sonal punch, plus tea and cof­fee, home­made cakes, takes place on Sat­ur­day Novem­ber 25th

There’s a Christ­mas Craft Fair in the Slieve Donard Re­sort and Spa, on Thurs­day Novem­ber 30th while the Mourne Mar­kets is an in­door mar­ket show­cas­ing the best of lo­cal pro­duc­ers of food, drink, arts and crafts, books, vin­tage ware, on De­cem­ber 8th.
