Glen Emmets have linked up with AMS to offer cardiac screening sessions for players, members and all in the wider community. We would encourage as many as possible to attend.

THERE will be a Code of Ethics course held in the clubrooms next Monday 12th March at 7pm. INDOOR training continues this coming Friday in the DkIT indoor centre from 6 to 7 p.m. for our U6 up to U12 hurlers.

Our U8 boys were in action in the latest Blitz in the DkIT where they played teams from Armagh, Down and from Monaghan. A very enjoyable two hours was had by all the players.

Our U17s hosted Clonduff from Co. Down who played us before heading to the Dublin Galway game in the National League. On the day we were the better team winning on a 4-11 to 1-5 scoreline. Neil Thornton top scored with 1-5 closely followed by Ben Goss-Kieran with 1-3 and Aidan O’Brien with 1-1. Dara Toner grabbed a goal while Adam Plunkett completed the scoring with two long range points.

MILLMOUNTH­ANDBALL

DUE to the severe adverse weather conditions the club had to unfortunat­ely cancel our juvenile handball coaching at Coke hall last Friday. With the thaw now taking hold all handball training will resume next Tuesday evening at Gormanston Sports Complex at 6.30pm, transport as usual departs the Pheasant car park at 6pm.

We have some fundraisin­g events coming up starting with the resumption of our fundraisin­g clothing appeal if you have any unwanted clothes, handbags, shoes, belts etc would you please bring them along to Coke hall reception or you can contact Maria on 0879821594 to arrange for collection thank you.

Our club registrati­on with GAA Handball Croke Park was completed last week and we would like to thank all players, parents and volunteers for their valuable input and co-operation.

The John West Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 tournament is being hosted by Down, Louth & Meath on the weekend of Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st July 2018 and our Club along with Lannleire will be hosting teams and games in our Parish watch out for further details soon . The boys u14/u13 team from Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire had their first training session in the run up to Féile 2018.

Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. are hosting a Kellogs GAA Cúl Football and Hurling Camp again this year from Monday 30th July to Friday 3rd August. Online booking commences on 1st March.

Louth GAA Coaching & Games are looking for coaches for the 2018 Louth GAA Kellogg’s Cúl Camps which will be taking place at various venues throughout the county this summer. We are looking for Lead coaches (18 years +) and Assistant Coaches (17 years) that should have at least completed a GAA Foundation Award, Code of Ethics / Best Practice and be Garda Vetted whilst undertakin­g compulsory Cúl Camp Coaches training as part of the programme. Those that have coached with us before need to resubmit all the relevant details again!! Standard Tax and PRSI rules will apply to all coaches.

In total there will be 36 camps in Louth this year and they commence on Monday 2nd July and finish on Friday 17th August (total of Six weeks). People interested in coaching Gaelic Games (Football, Hurling/Camogie) and want to be part of the Louth GAA Summer Camps 2017 can complete the applicatio­n form from the link below. Closing date for all applicatio­ns is Friday 27th April.

JUVENILE training continues on Saturday afternoon at the DKIT Centre from 2pm to 3pm with the usual €2 contributi­on still applying.

Snow storm Emma saw all our club games fixed for last week postponed. Activities are expected to get back to normal this week with both our U15 and senior teams in Leinster league action next weekend.

The U15 team travel to Confey in Kildare on Saturday (March 10) to take on St Columba’s in the Cross County League at 2.30pm.

The same afternoon our senior team play Fingallian­s (Dublin) in the Leinster league at home at 2pm at a venue TBC.

Next Sunday morning sees the conclusion of the Ulster indoor hurling at the DKIT Centre with the last round of the U12 league from 10am.

Preparatio­ns for the 2017 Championsh­ip winning dinner dance are continuing where it will take place in the Lisdoo Arms in Dundalk on Sunday 18th March. Tickets are available at €35.

2018 membership is now due at the following rates- adult player €50, non player/student €25, juvenile €15 and family €50.

COME celebrate with our winning teams of 2017 as our Senior men and U-21 teams get presented with their championsh­ip medals in the Westcourt Hotel as we mark the 21st Joe Ward win for the club. It promises to be a great night of entertainm­ent.

Again this year the GAA are holding a week of their Cul Camp on the point road from the 23th to 27th July, Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 2.30pm, so try to keep these dates free. Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participan­t involvemen­t.
