Spruce up your home and garden

-

THE sizzling summer heatwave means we all want to spend more time in our gardens – but without wanting to spend more money making it presentable! The good news is there are many ways of making your garden beautiful without breaking the bank, and whatever your budget, you can clean it up with style.

Don’t forget, the garden can be another room in your house, and you can bring the indoors out in fine weather. Gardening on a budget doesn’t mean you have to put up with a boring backyard. When it comes to brightening up outdoor spaces, a little can go a long way. Of course, once your garden looks great, your house can look a little tired, but fear not, just a few quid and a bit of imagination can fix this too!

Renovating or remodeling your home does not have to be expensive. Whether you are trying to update and remodel a house to get it ready to sell, or to make it a more comfortable place for you to live, there are plenty of ways you can fix up your house that don’t cost a lot of money. Before making any changes in the house, it is best to put everything away where it belongs and simply clean up the place. Your place will look better immediately. Also, by cleaning, you get the opportunity to see how things are arranged and think of ways to simply rearrange the furniture or choose a better location of stored belongings to make it more effective or pleasing to the eye. Getting rid of clutter will also clear up space and will make the rooms look bigger than they did when they were crammed with things. To save money, you want to consider making the changes that have the greatest impact first - the things that will get the most bang for your buck. Things like paint, flooring, lighting, and arrangement and existence of appliances and furniture. A fresh coat of paint can quickly and economically update, brighten and enhance a home. Then you can make the changes that will enhance the home in more subtle ways. Take old, dingy kitchen cabinets and repaint them in a sunny colour, or buy white flat-pack cabinets and white tiles for splashbacks and make them look more expensive by laying granite worktops over them.To give your bathroom an easy facelift, bring in hard-wearing, water-loving plants in colourful pots (such as ferns or money plants). Pretty accessories, a vintage soapdish, bamboo or colourful blind, attractive glass or wicker containers also give a more spa-like feel.
