GREAT GOLF WIN

We send our congratula­tions to Local golfer Brendan Lawlor who had a major win when winning the Chech Masters which was played last week. This was the third major win for Brendan this year having already won tournament­s in France and Portugal. He is a member of the Dundalk golf club and is the son of Billy and Marie Lawlor. As well as his wins Brendan who plays of a two handicap is a member of the Dundalk senior panel which has qualified for the Semi finals of both the AIG Barton cup and senior league. We wish Brendan well and look forward to more great wins from him.

TANYA CONFERRED

We also send congratula­tions to Mullacrew’s Tanya Englishby who received her Phd in Genetics from the university of Edinburgh. Tanya now becomes a doctorate in and she was conferred with her degree last weekend. Her family and friends travelled tom Edinburgh for the event. Tanya is the daughter of P.J. and the late Pauline Englishby and all her friends and neighbours send their congratula­tions.

TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns committee are looking for volunteers to assist them with keeping the village and surroundin­g areas clean. This might suit some of the school students of on holidays but everyone is welcome. The tidy towns committee do great work for the village and they deserve all the help they can get. They meet every evening in the village at 7.30pm.

MOCHTAS

St. Mochtas ladies had a tremendous win over near neighbopur­s and rivals St. Brides last Sunday. The final score reflected the game as Mochtas had a convincing win on a score line of 5goals 13 points to 4 goals 8 points. We send our congratula­tions to all concerned.

The men play opening game of this years intermedia­te championsh­ip when they play the winners of Hunterstow­n Rovers or St. Fechins in a double header next Sunday in Ardee. Throw in is at 6.30pm. We wish them all the best and lets hope they get good support.
