Armagh Road traffic survey
CATHAORLEACH Cllr. Conor Keelan said he was ‘very surprised’ at the results of a road traffic survey on the Armagh Road.
The chairman had submitted a question to the local authority asking ‘What is the council’s plan to deal with the ever increasing traffic problem in this area?’
At the September meeting Councillors heard that a speed and traffic survey was conducted on the road during 2017 and a report reached the conclusion that no traffic calming was required.
The survey was conducted in accordance with LCC’S traffic calming policy and found that actual speeds were not in excess of the limits prescribed.A further study is planned for 2019 to ascertain if there is any change to speeds.
