DUNDALKGAELS

OUR ju­niors put on a good show in Sun­day’s cham­pi­onship fi­nal with St Mary’s at St Brigid’s Park, but un­for­tu­nately came up three points short. They were in touch un­til Mary’s pulled clear late on. Con­grat­u­la­tions to the team and Paul Mor­gan’s manage­ment on reach­ing the fi­nal.

There could be ju­niors and se­niors of the fu­ture in our nurs­ery, which be­gins a new sea­son at the DkIt Cen­tre on Sat­ur­day evening next. Boys and girls be­tween 4 and 6 are in­vited to come along. There’ll be an hour’s ses­sion each week be­gin­ning at 5 o’clock.

A re­minder: the an­nual gen­eral meet­ing has been sched­uled for Tues­day, Novem­ber 27. Nom­i­na­tion pa­pers etc will be cir­cu­lated in due course.

A vote of sym­pa­thy was passed at a re­cent com­mit­tee meet­ing with Danny wa­ters on the death of his grand­mother, Mar­garet Dolan, Lit­tle Mills.

In the U16 Hurl­ing Cham­pi­onship Fi­nal this Thurs­day night Oc­to­ber 11 Moninne will take on the St Kevin’s/Mat­tock com­bi­na­tion at the Kilk­erly Em­mets pitch at 8pm.

The clubs an­nual golf out­ing took place at Dun­dalk GC last Sat­ur­day with 65 golfers tak­ing part. The com­pe­ti­tion was won by se­nior team player Johnny Carter with 44 points. Win­ner of near­est the pin was Cri­ona O Reilly and the long­est drive was won by Jamie Duffy.

The club would like to ac- knowl­edge the ef­forts of Paula McGuin­ness and Mar­garet Dig­nan Maloney in par­tic­u­lar who ran the Pop Up Shop at the Long Walk Shop­ping Cen­tre last week. Thanks also to every­one who do­nated to the shop and con­trib­uted fi­nan­cially.

The an­nual Chil­dren’s Pump­kin Carv­ing Party will take place at the Dow­dall­shill func­tion room on Sat­ur­day 20th Oc­to­ber from 12.30pm to 2pm. Cost per child is €5 and must be pre booked with Caro­line Whyte 0876475093.

THERE was no jack­pot win­ner in the Naomh Fionnbarra GFC and St. Anne’s Camo­gie Club lotto draw held on Wednes­day last. Hard luck to the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire mi­nor team who were beaten in the Mi­nor B Cham­pi­onship Fi­nal on a score­line of 3-15 to 0-20 by St Joseph’s on Sat­ur­day.

In what was an in­cred­i­bly fast­paced, high-qual­ity and ex­cit­ing game, St Joseph’s came out on top by four points.

Good luck to the lads who have fin­ished now in the Mi­nor grade and thank you for all your ef­forts.

Naomh Fionnbarra GFC and St Anne’s Camo­gie Club are host­ing a Lip Sync bat­tle fund-rais­ing event on Sat­ur­day De­cem­ber 29th at the Ci­tyNorth Ho­tel which prom­ises to be the event of the year.

Train­ing is con­tin­u­ing for ages seven up­wards on Wednes­day nights at 7pm in Naomh Malachi field, and also in Kilk­er­ley field on Sat­ur­day’s at 10:15am un­der the stew­ard­ship of Pearce, Micheal and Fra, and their as­sis­tants.

On Sat­ur­day night in Clarke’s the Sean O’Ma­hony’s GAA Club pre­sented a framed photo of the suc­cess­ful Sean O’Ma­hony’s 1948 team to the only sur­viv­ing mem­ber of that team, a spritely Tom Car­roll, who re­cently turned 90 years old.

The club have de­cided to screen the movie Ho­cus Po­cus, for our Hal­loween movie Night on Oct 29th, the Bank Hol­i­day Mon­day, on the pitch at 6pm. Prizes for kids in best Hal­loween cos­tumes. ADM €5 only, pay on en­try on the night at the gate.

There will be an fit­ting/order­ing night this Mon­day night in the dress­ing rooms from 8.00 to 9.00, for any­body who wants to or­der the new Sean O’Ma­hony’s gear.
