OUR juniors put on a good show in Sunday’s championship final with St Mary’s at St Brigid’s Park, but unfortunately came up three points short. They were in touch until Mary’s pulled clear late on. Congratulations to the team and Paul Morgan’s management on reaching the final.
There could be juniors and seniors of the future in our nursery, which begins a new season at the DkIt Centre on Saturday evening next. Boys and girls between 4 and 6 are invited to come along. There’ll be an hour’s session each week beginning at 5 o’clock.
A reminder: the annual general meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 27. Nomination papers etc will be circulated in due course.
A vote of sympathy was passed at a recent committee meeting with Danny waters on the death of his grandmother, Margaret Dolan, Little Mills.

In the U16 Hurling Championship Final this Thursday night October 11 Moninne will take on the St Kevin’s/Mattock combination at the Kilkerly Emmets pitch at 8pm.
The clubs annual golf outing took place at Dundalk GC last Saturday with 65 golfers taking part. The competition was won by senior team player Johnny Carter with 44 points. Winner of nearest the pin was Criona O Reilly and the longest drive was won by Jamie Duffy.
The club would like to ac- knowledge the efforts of Paula McGuinness and Margaret Dignan Maloney in particular who ran the Pop Up Shop at the Long Walk Shopping Centre last week. Thanks also to everyone who donated to the shop and contributed financially.
The annual Children’s Pumpkin Carving Party will take place at the Dowdallshill function room on Saturday 20th October from 12.30pm to 2pm. Cost per child is €5 and must be pre booked with Caroline Whyte 0876475093.

Hard luck to the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire minor team who were beaten in the Minor B Championship Final on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-20 by St Joseph’s on Saturday.
In what was an incredibly fastpaced, high-quality and exciting game, St Joseph’s came out on top by four points.

On Saturday night in Clarke’s the Sean O’Mahony’s GAA Club presented a framed photo of the successful Sean O’Mahony’s 1948 team to the only surviving member of that team, a spritely Tom Carroll, who recently turned 90 years old.
The club have decided to screen the movie Hocus Pocus, for our Halloween movie Night on Oct 29th, the Bank Holiday Monday, on the pitch at 6pm. Prizes for kids in best Halloween costumes. ADM €5 only, pay on entry on the night at the gate.
