-

JURISDICTION has been refused by the district court in the case of an 18-year-old man accused of a money laundering offence.

Seán Connor, 236 Moneymore, Drogheda, is charged that on 11 December, 2019, at 236 Moneymore, he did engage in concealing the true nature, source and ownership of property that is the proceeds of criminal conduct, to wit €11,400 cash, while knowing said property was the proceeds of criminal conduct.

Judge Miriam Walsh refused jurisdiction.

The defendant, a social welfare recipient, his solicitor Eleanor Kelly said, was remanded on his own bail of €500, with conditions attached, to Drogheda court on 24 July next, for a book of evidence.

Legal aid was granted.
