The ser­viced apart­ments mar­ket in Ger­many is some way be­hind that of the UK and France but since 2010 it has grown by 112%, with an an­nual av­er­age oc­cu­pancy of 77%, ac­cord­ing to apart­mentser­vice.de. This is set to con­tinue, with some 13,000 units planned un­til 2019, an in­crease of 40%, and some 100,000 units fore­cast to open by 2030, rep­re­sent­ing 10% of the coun­try's hos­pi­tal­ity busi­ness. Top providers cur­rently are Derag Liv­ingho­tels with 1,461 apart­ments, Ad­ina Apart­ment Ho­tels (1,356), Apartho­tel Ada­gio and Ada­gio Ac­cess (698), Ci­tadines (556) and GHOTEL ho­tel & liv­ing (459). Brand­ing is play­ing a ma­jor role in new projects, with mi­cro apart­ments fast be­com­ing a trend. Op­er­a­tors are also show­ing a strong in­ter­est in se­condary des­ti­na­tions – a mark of the sec­tor's growth.
