Busy au­tumn for Pas­toral Coun­cil

MITCHEL­STOWN Par­ish Pas­toral Coun­cil held their first meet­ing of the Au­tumn sea­son on Mon­day night in the Town Hall.

This is the 3rd and fi­nal year of the Coun­cil’s term. The Coun­cil com­mit­ted it­self again to con­tinue to reach out and help de­velop the faith life of the Par­ish.

It has un­der­taken to help pre­pare a monthly Fam­ily Mass on the last Sun­day of each month, this will be the 11.30am Mass. Fam­i­lies are al­ready par­tic­i­pat­ing at the Bal­ly­gi­b­lin and Ki­la­cluig Masses.

This will now hap­pen at the Par­ish Church on Sun­day Septem­ber 24. When the 3rd year of the 3 year term of Coun­cil ends in June 2018, a num­ber of this present Coun­cil will re­tire.

In the in­ter­ven­ing pe­riod the Par­ish will be seek­ing new nom­i­na­tions to re­place them.

The pro­cee­dure will be ex­plained in the com­ing months.

The Con­sti­tu­tion en­vis­ages the Coun­cil be­ing re­newed ev­ery three years, new faces and new ideas, while re­tain­ing a num­ber of the mem­bers of the pre­vi­ous Coun­cil.
