Min­is­ter to open new doors at Col Treasa

A NEW ex­ten­sion to Coláiste Treasa sec­ondary school will be of­fi­cially opened next Fri­day, 29th Septem­ber.

This cer­e­mony will be per­formed by Michael Creed, Min­is­ter for Agri­cul­ture, Food and the Marine.

This state of the art ex­ten­sion con­tains two new sci­ence rooms, a Home Eco­nom­ics room and a link cor­ri­dor.

This project be­gan in late De­cem­ber 2016 and was com­pleted in Au­gust, and the man­age­ment and staff are de­lighted with this new fa­cil­ity.

DUHAL­LOW Cho­ral So­ci­ety are de­lighted to be in­vited to Chicago in March 2018 rep­re­sent­ing Duhal­low and Ireland.

This will be a ma­jor hon­our for the choir to sing in Chicago and take the spirit of Duhal­low to the USA.

To help to off­set some of the cost of the trip the cho­ral group will be un­der­tak­ing some fundrais­ing events over the next few months. The choir are hop­ing the peo­ple from Kan­turk and the Duhal­low re­gion will sup­port them with their fundrais­ers as this is only the sec­ond time in 21years that they will be fundrais­ing for them­selves.

The choir has been do­ing a lot of char­ity con­certs for a lot of dif­fer­ent causes over the years so they are hop­ing for a lit­tle help to­wards this great event. They will be telling you about their events when they have a pro­gramme compiled.

In the mean­time, the choir will be singing at Christ­mas con­certs all around Duhal­low this year so they have a busy time ahead.
