Mallow Health Week starts this Friday
MALLOW Health Week starts this Friday, September 29 with a kinesiology workshop by Sheila O’Hanlon which is being organised by CAN TALK cancer support group.

On Tuesday, October 3 there is a talk on Osteoporosis and Bone Health in Mallow Library by Senior physiotherapist Patricia Morrisroe from 10.30am to 12noon and also on Tuesday there is a talk in Mallow Day Care Centre from 3.30pm -4.30pm on ‘Over the Counter Medication’ from Mulcahy’s Pharmacy.
A mental health forum will take place from 10am -12noon on Wednesday, October 4 in the Mercy Centre, which is an informal discussion about mental health issues with Noel Parsons HSE.
The Marie Keating mobile unit will also be available from 10am to 3pm. This is a service which provides information about cancer prevention and information with the venue to be confirmed.
On Thursday, October 5 there is a hosting a LGBT awareness talk by Kate Moynihan from LINC for transition years in the Hibernian Hotel from 10am to 12noon. Kate Moynihan is also going to do a talk in the evening of Thursday, October 5 from 7pm to 9pm in the Hibernian Hotel for parents around LGBT issues.
On Friday, men’s health checks will take place in Mallow Co- Op from 10am to 1pm with public health nurses who will do a blood pressure check, risk assessment in terms of diabetes etc.
There is no cost for events taking place over health week.
