The death oc­curred sud­denly on Mon­day, Septem­ber 18, of James (Jimmy) Walsh, Church Street, Mitchel­stown. The late Jimmy was in his 87th year.

He was very pop­u­lar be­ing a keen golfer. In his younger days he was a noted foot­baller with the Gal­tee Rovers club hav­ing won a Co JAFC ti­tle in 1957.

He played for his na­tive Lim­er­ick. He was also a very keen hand­baller and won many titles. Through­out his life he kept a very keen in­ter­est in sport and was a very friendly per­son known far and wide. His pop­u­lar­ity was borne out in the large and rep­re­sented at­ten­dance that were present at the Chapel of Rest Mitchel­stown on Tues­day evening and also at the Re­quiem Mass on Thurs­day at the Par­ish Church Mitchel­stown.

In­ter­ment took place to Kil­be­henny Ceme­tery. To his wife Mary, nephew, rel­a­tives neigh­bours and many friends we ten­der our sin­cere sym­pa­thy.

The death oc­curred on Satur­day, Septem­ber 25, of Mau­reen Bow­man, Scart Kil­dor­rery at the Cor­pus Christi Nurs­ing Home, Mitchel­stown. The late Mau­reen was a mem­ber of an old and es­tab­lished fam­ily in Kil­dor­rery. Her pop­u­lar­ity was borne out in the large and rep­re­sented at­ten­dance that were present for her fu­neral on Mon­day evening from Han­non’s Fu­neral Home, Kil­dor­rery to St Bartholomew’s Church Kil­dor­rery.

There was also a fine gath­er­ing for the Fu­neral Mass and burial on Tues­day. In­ter­ment took place to the lo­cal Ceme­tery.

To her rel­a­tives, friends, neigh­bours and res­i­dents of Cor­pus Christi Nurs­ing Home we ten­der our sin­cere sym­pa­thy.

The death oc­curred on Fri­day of Bridie Lynch (Nee O’Sul­li­van) at Ca­her­calla Nurs­ing Home in Ennis., County Clare.

She was from Hill Crest Lim­er­ick Road, Ennis and formerly of Liss Araglin. The late Bridie was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band James.

There was a large at­ten­dance at the re­moval on Sun­day evening from Kennedy’s Fu­neral, Ennis to Clare­cas­tle Church and also at the Re­quiem Mass and burial on Mon­day. In­ter­ment took place to Drum­cliffe Ceme­tery, Ennis.

To her daugh­ters Cather­ine, Sinead, son Brian, sons in law brother in law, grand­chil­dren, sis­ters in law, neph­ews, nieces rel­a­tives neigh­bours and friends we ten­der our sin­cere sym­pa­thy. THERE was no jack­pot win­ner. The num­bers drawn were 5, 21 & 39. Three lucky dip win­ners each re­ceived 50 euros as fol­lows : Bernie Danagher Far­rahy, Kil­dor­rery, Ella Cla­hane, Tankard­stown, Kil­dor­rery, John Greaves, Rock­mills, Kil­dor­rery.
