Centre’s official opening

The Corkman - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

ON Tuesday Mitchelstown Enterprise Centre on the Dublin Road was officially opened and blessed. Canon Michael Fitzgerald and Canon Tom Sherlock led the prayers of blessing. The official opening was performed by Minister of State David Staunton.

Liam O’Doherty on behalf of Mitchelstown Forum outlined all the hard work of the committee and the local support given to make the magnificient centre possible. At present 28 people are working from the centre and there are 10 different companies.

A special presentation of appreciation was made to Carmel Fox (Ballyhoura) and to Tom Whelton for their wonderful work in driving the development. It must be acknowledged that the enormous amount of voluntary time and work is being given to develop the community of Mitchelstown and to acquire the services available.

State and Council bodies respond positively to local voluntary initiatives but without it a community is lost.

A big ‘ thank you’ to all involved and a big ‘ thank you’ to the Lord for all the blessings in the community.

A little contribution from everyone is helping Mitchelstown to rediscover her greatness and that she is central in the heart of Munster.
