Mallow gearing up for some festive fun at Castle Fair
HAVING recently played host to the successful Halloween ‘Spooktacular’ event the stately grounds of Mallow Castle is set to host another seasonal shindig next month.
For the fourth year in succession the venue will be transformed into a ‘Winter Wonderland’, with local community groups and businesses urged to do their bit to bring festive sparkle to the town.
Organised by the Mallow Development Partnership (MDP) in conjunction with Cork County Council and the Mallow Chamber, the event will take place from noon to 4pm on Saturday, December 2.
Since its inception the fair has grown to become one of the biggest of its kind in north Cork, offering visitors a welcome opportunity to pick up some seasonal gifts while enjoying some free entertainment.
As in previous years it will feature an impressive array of festive food and craft stalls, including some from the successful Taste of Cork initiative.
A spokesperson for the MDP said the event has rapidly become a staple of Mallow’s festive calendar.
“It is a great opportunity for the local community to come together to welcome the Christmas season, with plenty taking place across the day to suit all ages and tastes,” they said.
“Musical entertainment will be provided in the specially erected marquee, with plenty of other attractions on the day for the little ones including the Christmas Express train ride, games, a storyteller and face painting.”
Naturally, the guest of honour will be the big man himself, Santa, who will welcome kiddies and invite them to confide their Christmas wish lists to him.
Any local businesses interested in setting up a stall on the day are asked to contact the Mallow Development Partnership on 022 22658 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a space
