Older Peoples Council event
CORK County Older Peoples Council will host an event at the Charleville Park Hotel on Monday, November 20 to promote health, wealth and happiness as we age.
Topics for discussion will include entitlements and allowances for older people, changes to home care packages in Ireland, promoting healthy nutrition and diet.
There will also be a motivational speaker and the gathering will be addressed by the chair of the Cork County Older Peoples Council. The MC for the event will Cllr Ian Doyle of Charleville.
Cork Older Peoples Council was established in 2015 as part of Cork Age Friendly County Programme. The council is made up of an executive and a wider committee who meet twice a year to celebrate positive ageing and their achievements.
The council aims to be as inclusive as possible by representing people from all walks of life, including people who can’t participate directly in the decision making process, such as those living in residential care or suffering from Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
This is a very exciting opportunity for people from across North Cork to learn, network and share ideas.
The event will commence at 10 am and is free to attend. For further information contact Shane Winters at 086-0842356 or shaneawn@gmail. com.
