Hurlers through to first Mun­ster fi­nal

KAN­TURK In­ter­me­di­ate hurlers pro­gressed to their first ever Mun­ster fi­nal by virtue of a 1-20 to 2-12 vic­tory over Kerry Se­nior cham­pi­ons Bal­ly­duff at Austin Stack park Tralee on Sun­day last.

Kan­turk raced into a 0-8 to nil lead early on and were five points to the good at the in­ter­val. When Bal­ly­duff goaled to level with two min­utes of nor­mal time re­main­ing it looked like a ex­tra time beck­oned but Kan­turk goaled on the re­sump­tion and two points in in­jury time sealed the vic­tory and a place in the fi­nal v Kil­ma­ley (Clare) on Sun­day 19th Novem­ber at the Gaelic Grounds (Lim­er­ick) 2pm

Un­der 16 Foot­ball:

Wolfe Tones (Kan­turK) con­tested the Rebel Og Cen­tral U16 P2A foot­ball league fi­nal against Ibane Gaels at Ballyan­ley on Satur­day last 4th No-vem­ber and af­ter a trilling con­test came out on the wrong side of a 2-07 to 2-09 score line.


The An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing of Kan­turk Ju­ve­nile GAA on this Fri­day 10th Novem­ber at 8pm will re­view a sea­son of progress with the high­light be­ing the suc­cess of the U14 hurlers in the Feile na nGael hurl­ing festival in Kilkenny/ Car­low in June.

When Chair­man Colm Mc Kier­nan moved abroad in Fe­bru­ary, Lor­cain Mc Lough­lin took over the reins to steer the club on a suc­cess­ful and pro­gres­sive path.

Out­go­ing of­fi­cers, com­mit­tee mem­bers, team man­age­ments and par­ents are es­pe­cially re­quested to at­tend the AGM and of­fer their help and sup­port to lead the club into 2018.
