Hurlers through to first Munster final
KANTURK Intermediate hurlers progressed to their first ever Munster final by virtue of a 1-20 to 2-12 victory over Kerry Senior champions Ballyduff at Austin Stack park Tralee on Sunday last.
Kanturk raced into a 0-8 to nil lead early on and were five points to the good at the interval. When Ballyduff goaled to level with two minutes of normal time remaining it looked like a extra time beckoned but Kanturk goaled on the resumption and two points in injury time sealed the victory and a place in the final v Kilmaley (Clare) on Sunday 19th November at the Gaelic Grounds (Limerick) 2pm
Under 16 Football:
Wolfe Tones (KanturK) contested the Rebel Og Central U16 P2A football league final against Ibane Gaels at Ballyanley on Saturday last 4th No-vember and after a trilling contest came out on the wrong side of a 2-07 to 2-09 score line.
JUVENILE GAA AGM ON FRIDAY NIGHT
The Annual General Meeting of Kanturk Juvenile GAA on this Friday 10th November at 8pm will review a season of progress with the highlight being the success of the U14 hurlers in the Feile na nGael hurling festival in Kilkenny/ Carlow in June.
When Chairman Colm Mc Kiernan moved abroad in February, Lorcain Mc Loughlin took over the reins to steer the club on a successful and progressive path.
Outgoing officers, committee members, team managements and parents are especially requested to attend the AGM and offer their help and support to lead the club into 2018.
