A mixed week of outcomes for the Ballygiblin hurlers
BALLYGIBLIN’S hurlers had three games in blistering heat during the past week. They won two and lost one. The Under-21 ‘A’ hurlers had a 1-20 to 1-14 win over Kilshannig at Castletownroche. The sides were level on a number of occasions, with Kilshannig 0-9 to 0-8 clear at the break. In the end, Ballygiblin emerged winners by a six-point margin.

On Thursday, Ballygiblin Junior A hurlers had a very good win over Kilshannig in a vital Division One Hurling League game at Glantane. Mark Keane was in great scoring form, accounting for 1-14 of the winners’ tally. The final score was 1-24 to 2- 18. Other scores for Ballygiblin were Sean O’Sullivan, 0-4; Cathal O’Mahony, 0-2; George Pendle, 0-2; Dylan Reidy-Price, 0-1; and Michael Walsh, 0-1. On Saturday evening Dromina were visitors to Ballygiblin for a Division One Hurling League game. Another close contest took place, with little between two evenly matches sides. Dromina had a goal from a penalty in the 50th minute, helping them to win by 1-14 to 0-15.
