Kiskeam is set to commemorate Sean Moylan this November 18
THE annual Sean Moylan Commemoration will take place on Sunday, November 18, in Kiskeam, with the oration being delivered by Fianna Fáil Brexit Spokesperson Lisa Chambers TD.
Mass will take place at 12 noon, following which a colour party led by the Cullen Pipe Band and the Sean Moylan Fianna Fáil Cumann will march to Moylan’s graveside. Following the commemoration, there will be an exhibition of old documents and memorabilia in the Community Centre to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Ireland and achievements in the name of Irish freedom.
Last year’s event was considered a great success, with over 300 scrolls presented at a ceremony at the Kiskeam Community Centre, with many others posted abroad.
It was hoped that the scrolls, a gesture of remembrance, would act as symbol of stories from the past.
