Kanturk AFC, U13 V Everton

PLAYED at home in great playing conditions. Kanturk didn’t get off to the best of starts as Everton secured a goal within the first five minutes of play. This was short lived as the Kanturk not to be out done on home ground got the score level with Jack Rahilly latching on to a corner from Joe Murphy. W

ith both teams giving it their all Kanturk goalkeeper Kaylum O’Donoghue pulled off some great saves to keep Everton out. With the first half closing the Turks defence had to be at the top of their game as the visiting team really piled on the pressure.

Second half and both teams really upped the tempo as they both wanted the win. Kanturk seemed to have the better chances but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

With only stoppage time left, Kanturk pushed hard for the win and were rewarded with a goal from Daniel Vaughan to land Kanturk a 2-1 victory. Well done to all the lads in a hard fought game.

Best of the day, Jack Rahilly, Kaylum O’Donoghue, Callum Twohig-Bell Warren O’Mahony and Óràn Lyons.

Cork Aul Premier League, Kanturk 0-1 Glenthorn Celtic

A severely under strength Kanturk lost a tight encounter to Glenthorn on Saturday last.

Injuries and other commitments meant Kanturk were missing five or six important players but the boys put in a performance we can be proud of and if we continue with this attitude then good results are just around the corner.
