Special Needs Assoc. cancel all 2020 events

-

IT is with regret that the Cullen and District Special Needs Association is forced to cancel all 2020 events following Covid 19 restrictions. According to Secretary Moira O’Keeffe, the decisions are taken in the best interests of the health and safety of their community and visitors.

“Everybody was disappointed that the final night of our Annual Sponsored Weigh In had to be abandoned. To finalise same we intend to meet in Cullen Community Centre on Monday (September 28) to collect sponsorship cards, if any patron is unable to attend, the cards can be given to any committee member”, she said.

The Association’s Annual Vintage Afternoon also fell by the wayside, always a popular hosting for enthuisiasts drawn from across the South West Region.

“And our Annual Christmas Party which has been part of our lives here in Cullen over the past 40 years is also cancelled, its been a highlight of our year’s activities and enjoyed by all. The safety of our friends is our top priority; but we will be back when it is safe to do so”, said Moira.

“Its disappointing that these successful and enjoyable charitable events are cancelled. We wish to thank all who helped and supported us over the years including our sponsors, media and local community, their help is invaluable, we hope 2021 will hold a brighter future and allows us all meet again, for now stay safe and take care”, concluded Moira.
