Edna O’brien’s (right) frank portrayal of her characters’ sex lives in The Country Girls led to her books being burned in 1960s Ireland. This intimate and entertaining portrayal of the octogenarian author revisits her life – and long literary career. Lynette attempts to win back Tom while Jane does all that she can to thwart her.
11.05PM, BBC1 Three more household names in British comedy Maureen Lipman, Julian Clary and Alex Horne are the guests – perched on that awkward three-seater sofa – helping Matt to hand out his unlikely awards. It’s still a bit stiff.
10.30PM, SONY TV This smart, funny comedy about a US community college continues with an episode in which Abed gets carried away with an epic film-making project, while Pierce (Chevy Chase, in great form) falls in with a bad crowd.
