So, Phil’s back on the booze. Hoo-flamin’-ray. He’s been looking way too fresh-faced and innocent, and Steve Mcfadden is never better than when he’s playing the character in drunken mode.
On Monday, Ben is fearful as he watches his dad continue to drown his sorrows and suggests that they still flee to Portugal. Phil, however, says that without Jay, it is pointless. Fearing that his father is going to turn him in, Ben rushes to Ian (above) and reveals that it was he who killed Evvver. On Tuesday, Ian must decide whether to turn Ben in or persuade him to confess, and where better to make that decision than in the allotments, where the lives of so many have been decided. On Thursday, after an altercation with Phil, the rivalry between the two men comes to the fore once more. Will they agree to bury the past and unite to save Ben’s skin? Do we even want Ben’s skin to be saved?
I can’t help feeling that if he were to fall into a passing cement mixer, no one would be too disappointed. How much more can the lad fit into his young life? And why does he never have any homework? Come to that, why doesn’t he even go to school? He’s too busy smashing people’s skulls in, that’s why.
Michael has a bit of a scare on Thursday when fianceé Janine decides that she is too fat for her dress and calls off the wedding.
He comes up with a plan on Friday and books an appointment at a 3D scan clinic. Nice idea – going for the emotional touch. I’m not sure that Janine has any heartstrings to pull, though. Still, the couple attend the clinic and find out the sex of their baby. He-devil, or She-devil?
