If you’re deskbound and stiff, try this simple lunchtime limber-up to loosen up your joints and get the blood flowing through your legs. It will also double as a handy little leg tone-up — just in time for the beach!
Stand with your feet close together, your posture upright and your right hand resting on the back of a chair for support.
Keeping your upper body straight and your eyes looking directly ahead, raise your left leg slowly in front of you with your toes pointing forward. Hold for a few moments. You should feel some stretch in your hip area and resistance in your leg muscles.
Now slowly swing your leg behind your back and raise it as high as it will go without too much discomfort. Hold for a few moments. Repeat 20 times.
Reverse sides and repeat 20 times with your right leg.
