If you’re deskbound and stiff, try this sim­ple lunchtime lim­ber-up to loosen up your joints and get the blood flow­ing through your legs. It will also dou­ble as a handy lit­tle leg tone-up — just in time for the beach!

STEP ONE

Stand with your feet close to­gether, your pos­ture up­right and your right hand rest­ing on the back of a chair for sup­port.

STEP TWO

Keep­ing your up­per body straight and your eyes look­ing di­rectly ahead, raise your left leg slowly in front of you with your toes point­ing for­ward. Hold for a few mo­ments. You should feel some stretch in your hip area and re­sis­tance in your leg mus­cles.

STEP THREE

Now slowly swing your leg be­hind your back and raise it as high as it will go with­out too much dis­com­fort. Hold for a few mo­ments. Re­peat 20 times.

STEP FOUR

Re­verse sides and re­peat 20 times with your right leg.
