The Irish Mail on Sunday - TV Week - - REAL LIFE -

1 When I was a child, I was a real tomboy. I had a big brother and to keep up with him I had to run very fast, climb trees and do all the boy-type things. I was really tough and brave back then – much more so than I am now. 2 I collect china bird figurines. My mother had a shelf in the kitchen full of ceramic mice, and I’d think, ‘Ugh, I’ll never collect those.’ Then the other day I looked at my shelf and realised it was full of china birds! 3 The worst gift I ever received was a pair of work-out pants a boyfriend gave me for Christmas. I was like, ‘Why are you giving me these? Is this a hint that I need them?’ The relationship didn’t last very long after that. 4 My first pay cheque was for $75, for modelling back-toschool fashions for a newspaper. I was 14 and felt rich! I bought some black jeans; it was a big deal as I wasn’t usually allowed to wear black, but it was my money and I was going to spend it how I liked! 5 I’m allergic to cats. I have a farm just outside LA with pigs, goats, chickens, horses, miniature donkeys and three dogs. My kids [Ava, 12, and Deacon, eight] love them. But sadly there are no cats.
