Kris Mar­shall’s

last reg­u­lar role in a British TV se­ries was as Matt, a de­spi­ca­ble es­tate agent in ITV’s com­edy Sold (left), five years ago. He re­turns in a far more like­able guise, play­ing nice-guy mosque man­ager Dave in BBC1’s new Birm­ing­ham-set sit­com Ci­ti­zen Khan (right), which cen­tres on the hap­less life of Mus­lim community leader Mr Khan (Adil Ray). Kris, 39, re­mains best known as im­ma­ture Nick Harper in BBC1’s long-run­ning sit­com My Fam­ily be­tween 2000 and 2005, and as Adam in those British Tele­com ads. In 2011, he filmed the 13-part com­edy se­ries Traf­fic Light for Fox in the US. Ci­ti­zen Khan, Mon­day, 10.20pm, BBC1.
