FIVE THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ME...

The Irish Mail on Sunday - TV Week - - REAL LIFE - DAMIAN LEWIS

The oddest thing I’ve ever eaten was elk stew. I was making a film in the wilds of Canada in winter, and in the evening dinner would be food the locals had shot. Elk stew is… well, let’s say it’s interesting. Gamey with a touch of shoe leather.

2

My favourite films are the Pink Panther series. I grew up with them – every time they came on TV, everything stopped for me. I still feel that way. You can’t get much funnier than Peter Sellers in my opinion.

3

When I was a child you were either a Smiths fan, which meant you were cool, or you were a Duranny, which meant you weren’t. I was always a Duran Duran fan in slightly-toopale ’80s denim while all the cool kids were listening to Morrissey.

This is deeply uncool too but, growing up, I preferred Roger Moore’s James Bond to Sean Connery’s. There was something about the way he seemed to be mocking the whole process that was hugely enjoyable. And the eyebrow, of course.

One of my pet hates is puffball dresses. I never understood why they were fashionable in the ’80s. Leg warmers, I have to admit, I find strangely sexy.
