JACI STEPHEN’S ultimate insight into the week’s soaps

The Irish Mail on Sunday - TV Week - - SEVEN DAYS -

with hepatitis, Max and Tanya are keen to keep her safe (too little, too late, methinks), although she is determined to see Joey. She is also determined to have a drink, but when Kirsty refuses to serve her at the Vic, she turns on Tanya, blaming her parents’ troubled relationship for her drinking. I can believe it. I reckon viewers can blame the increase in their alcohol consumption on the stresses of Walford, too.

It’s a very Branning-heavy week, what with Abi’s birthday on Monday, Lauren’s homecoming and, in the light of Lauren’s unkempt appearance, Alfie’s speech on Tuesday regarding how everyone should be more aware of what they put in their bodies (looked in the mirror lately, Alfie?). It’s all a big build- up to Friday, when we say goodbye to Tanya. But will Max realise that he is losing the love of his life?
