shot to fame as the ti­tle char­ac­ter in t the 1990s ITV se­ries Dr Fin­lay (right) about aS a Scot­tish GP re­turn­ing from wartime ser­vice in the 1940s. He last ap­peared on our TV scr screens in the minis­eries In­jus­tice back in 2011 2011, though he has ha also voiced char­ac­ters in chil­dren’s se­ries Peppa Pig and popped up in a bit part in The Iron Lady, the 2011 big-screen biopic of Margaret Thatcher. In the first part of this new US minis­eries, which is pro­duced by Derry na­tive Roma Downey, he plays Noah (above), who has to en­dure the wrath of God in the form of the Great Flood.
