be­came one of the most recog­nis­able le faces on TV when he played Yosser Hughes (left), t), with his ‘gissa job’ catch­phrase, in the 1982 2 BBC2 se­ries Boys From The Black­stuff. Since e then his film ca­reer – in­clud­ing roles as Cap­tain n Smith in Ti­tanic and Théoden in the Lord Of f The Rings films – has largely oc­cu­pied him. But t in the new BBC1 drama From There To Here, set against the IRA’s bomb­ing of Manch­ester in 1996, Bernard, d now 69 69, plays l Sa­muel (right), the fa­ther of Philip Glenis­ter’s char­ac­ter Daniel. It’s his first TV ap­pear­ance since a guest spot in Sky drama Fal­con in 2012.
