GUCCI GOES BEAUTY
Here’s some exciting news, ladies! A new beauty collection is being launched by Gucci, arriving this September in selected countries (hopefully including Ireland). Rumour has it that the Gucci collection will feature pieces for eyes, lips, face and nails, while skin preparation products and brushes have also been hinted at. The face of the debut range is going to be one Charlotte Casiraghi, who is the granddaughter of the late Princess Grace of Monaco. Expect lots of updates from Gucci on social media. No doubt some of the other luxury brands will be keeping a close eye on developments too.
IT’S TIME TO CHILL!
In winter, our skin needs nourishment. In summer, we need hydration. So what to use? Well, in colder months, a rich lotion or cream offers comfort to the skin and all day moisture, while in summer, a gel boosts hydration but absorbs quickly without residue or stickiness. Perfect for the sunny weather is The Body Shop’s range of body sorbets (gels), which come in five fragances and are made with 100 per cent Fair Trade aloe vera, €13.50, and their Vitamin E Aqua Sorbet for the face, €15. The cool skin treats for face and body are an alternative to after-sun and are perfect for hot summer nights. Keep in the fridge for an extra chill.
Foot maintenance is a necessary but boring chore. The good news is that the hard skin dissolving action of Footner’s Exfoliating Socks has been improved, speeding up the peeling process by half. The socks are simple to use: pre-soak the feet and pop on the socks for 60 minutes. The AHA gel contained within the socks unglues the dead skin cells and they begin to peel within three days. The skin should be smooth as silk after a week. The original socks took between a week and a fortnight to work, making this new version a lot more convenient. The socks can be purchased for €24.99 a pair online at boots.ie or in store.
