LUSCIOUS LOCKS

Do you have fine or thin hair, and long for more body and volume? You could try L’Oréal Elvive Fibrology range, and in less than a fortnight have thicker hair thanks to its clever active ingredient filloxane. Developed over nearly two decades, the technology is akin to how we repair cracked windscreens with the chemical process of a gel turning into a solid in moist conditions. With filloxane, the active ingredient forms bonds within the wet hair strands, becoming bulky when dry. The result; much denser, thicker hair. Not only that, L’Oréal say the effect lasts up to 10 washes, so the more you use the range the more body is created. Available now, prices for the shampoo and conditioner start at €5.84 for 250mls.

EAU DE SAPHIR FOR A BUDGET BODY BOOST

A popular European fragrance has recently hit our shores, and if you are on a tight budget it will be of interest to your pocket. Saphir Perfume is a range of 73 scents – 47 for women, 26 for men. The long-established Spanish brand also operates in Italy and Portugal and carries fragrances that include all different perfume families and combinations, so if you prefer a fruity floral over an oriental you will find a favourite. Check www.saphirperfume.com for full descriptions. Prices start at €7.99 for 25mls to €24.99 for 200mls.

SOOTHING SKIN BALM

It’s the dry skin saviour favoured by A-listers Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron apparently, and it’s there for us mere mortals, too. If you suffer from dry, cracked skin, Eucerin’s Aquaphor will definitely help, and who doesn’t need some extra TLC for the knees, hands and elbows? It’s a soothing skin balm gentle enough to use on children. It contains no colourants, fragrance or preservatives that can irritate sensitive skin. It has skin- softening glycerin, panthenol and chamomile to calm skin. Priced €11.69. No, it doesn’t contain butter, but it has a seriously creamy shine so it’s the perfect summer gloss. NYX has only recently launched in Ireland. The range is extensive with over 1,500 shades throughout its products. Cult favourites include the ergonomically shaped Curve Eye Liner (€15.99) for precise lining, and Wonder Pencil, a nude for lining lips to prevent lipstick bleeding and for brighter eyes, €5.99. The Clarins autumn/winter makeup theme is ‘Ladylike’ with a collection of soft, smoky, long-wearing colour. This eye and brow kit is a super palette containing brow colour, eye colour and brow setting wax. Grooming tools include a brow comb, sponge applicator and tweezers.
