THE LANCÔME BROWN THOMAS EFFECT
Last week we reported the news of the new Lancôme launch of Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Cream, €52, which joins the best-selling Génifique range. And this week there’s more news from the French beauty brand, and it’s an exclusive beauty offer with Brown Thomas nationwide. Buy two products (one to be skin care) and you will receive a gift worth €127. The gift includes make-up and cleansers, plus a 15ml day and night cream from a choice of two ranges, Rénergie (40+) or Absolue Premium (50+). The offer ends on September 21. Available while stocks last.
SAYING SAYŌNARA TO ANY SPOTS OF BOTHER
Fashion conscious and with price points relevant to its younger market, Essence make-up is a huge seller here in Ireland. And this month they’re moving into skin care, again with a focus on the needs of its customers with solutions for controlling shine and break-outs. Pure Skin is a range that includes lots of problem solvers, tackling issues such as excess sebum, blocked pores, blackheads and spots. Choose from cleansers through to spot creams, anti-spot BB cream and purifying nose strips. Arriving in Penneys and pharmacies this month, prices €1.89-€5.49.
A LITTLE TIPPLE
Here’s a great story for your Sunday. We all like Marks & Spencer wine – the brand uses red pinot noir grapes for their sparkling and rosé wines. So that accounts for the juice, but what about the rest of the grapes, the skins specifically? Well, for the last few years, M&S has worked with the University of Leeds on the extraction of antioxidant powerhouse resveratrol from the grapes. This is hugely effective in skin care, fighting ageing and improving skin tone. Rather than let it go to waste in the wine-making process, M&S have created a natural and quite lovely range from it called Pure (Super Grape). Prices from €7-€27. The Michael Kors counter in Arnotts is a must-see. The designer’s love of Californian style is infused throughout the beauty collection; the products, from gloss to tan, are a delight to use. They’re categorised into three female types – sporty, sexy and glam, with colours correlating to each look. Nine new polishes have also been launched. There’s only one problem with the eye palettes from Bobbi Brown, the collections are really wearable but at some stage you will have to leave one behind in order to get a new one. C’est la vie, as they say, so what about this new palette? It’s a stunner; a two-tier collection of 8 shadows, with finishes ranging from creamy matte to rich metallics. The shades will work in many combinations on any eye colour.
