BOYFRIEND DILEMMAS

Do you have a man’s man at home, the type that relies on soap and water in the most manly of fashions? And yet, somehow, your products don’t last quite as long as they should? The top products ‘borrowed’ by the boys are shampoo and facial scrub. The shampoo stealing appears to be because boys like silky hair and smelling of exotic flowers. The scrub goes missing because it makes their skin so smooth and reduces ingrown hairs and razor rash, and they are addicted to the stuff. Hide your supply and buy your man his own. Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub with energising grapefruit and caffeine is ideal for all hearty

fellows, €25. I’ll bet he doesn’t share!

DITCH THE TOWEL..

If you’re experiencing a period of fragile hair it might be time to set the towel to one side. Whether it’s strands breaking off or if you have new growth, the average weight of a cotton hand towel is too much for delicate hair, and it’s quite rough on the hair’s dermic outer layer, too. Cotton of this type isn’t the most absorbent fabric either – lighter cottons are better, or polyester blends also wick away wetness more effectively. Boots Hair Turban is lightweight and good for rapid drying, €6.75. If you haven’t got that try just using an old T-shirt and gently squeezing the hair when wet. A quick style and you’re good to go.

FALL’S COLOURS

Autumn is looking rosy with the Rose Glow Collection from YSL. This unusual collection of primer, high lighter, powder and blush is infused with rose- and gold-coloured elements. Created to add a touch of radiance with a subtle flush of rosy pink, the products will negate the sallow appearance of yellow tones in the face, making it look healthier. Pink is certainly a trend for lips and eyes but YSL are the only brand to introduce the shade, however delicate looking, into face products. From €35 at counters nationwide. It’s not all about the tummies, pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause sore, cracked nipples too. It has active plant extracts and avocado, evening primrose and rosehip oil. Safe to use when nursing, it can be applied after breastfeeding. Keep to hand for other skin emergencies after breastfeeding ceases. When you want to get back into shape, this serum could be your secret weapon. Skin Tight has all the qualities of a face serum. It’s designed for the body to fight lax skin and smooth away any rough areas. Use it once or twice a day for 30 days to see maximum results, thereafter apply it three times a week to maintain the effects. Try it everywhere you want to improve tone and tighten skin, whether arms, legs and/or tummy.
