A Mon­tagne-Sain­tÉmil­ion from just be­side Saint-Émil­ion but bet­ter than many wines from that more highly priced ap­pel­la­tion. Ripe, meaty and full on the palate, this is a red wine that begs for rare beef, mus­tard and horse­rad­ish. Plenty of tan­nin lurk­ing be­neath the fruit to make it a prop­erly food-friendly wine.
