Karl Howman,

The Irish Mail on Sunday - TV Week - - YOUR TV WEEK -

61, struck sitcom gold in the 80s 0s playing wise-cracking painter and decorator Jacko in n BBC1’s Brush Strokes. The show ran from 1986 6 to 1991 and frequently attracted audiences in n excess of 12 million. His subsequent come- dies – Mulberry, in which he played the title e character from 1992-3, and Babes In The Wood five years later, in which he played divorcé Charlie (left) – were less successful. He returns this week as under-pressure furniture maker Ray Evendon (right) in medical drama Doctors – Karl’s first TV acting work since an episode of Casualty in 2009.
