Se­ri­ous stuff this grand cru from grand Pauil­lac makes a fan­tas­tic fist of a trou­ble­some vin­tage. Trade­mark cas­sis or even Ribena on the nose, a gen­er­ous sea­son­ing of new oak that comes through in toasty, vanilla notes. Firm but gen­er­ous fruit on the palate and grippy tan­nins that soften with a bit of air.
