A bro­ken-hearted Paul goes to ex­treme lengths to halt Ni­amh and Michael’s re­la­tion­ship by in­ter­fer­ing with Michael’s job prospects in Gal­way. When he’s con­fronted by Ni­amh’s out­rage, he learns the re­la­tion­ship is more se­ri­ous than he re­alised. He calls on Der­mot to help him re­or­gan­ise his fi­nances in or­der to make Ni­amh fight for ev­ery cent in the up­com­ing sep­a­ra­tion pro­ceed­ings. Poor Rachel gets caught in the cross­fire.

Damien no­tices that some­thing is trou­bling Caoimhe. He of­fers her a shoul­der to cry on when she re­veals she’s wor­ried about be­com­ing like her fa­ther. They grow closer as Caoimhe con­fides in him about her trou­bles.

Far­rah and Re­nee ( be­low) have an emo­tional week with the dis­traught daugh­ter feel­ing Re­nee can’t make up for lost years and that it’s bet­ter if Re­nee leaves. Re­la­tions get even more com­pli­cated when they visit Christy’s grave.

Ju­dith makes plans to move in with Bob but has to deal with Re­nee’s pres­ence. Bob and Ju­dith’s re­la­tion­ship reaches cri­sis point when Bob re­fuses to be a re­place­ment for Luke and Tommy and he forces Ju­dith to con­front her ghosts. Ju­dith is left dev­as­tated when Bob ends their re­la­tion­ship.
