MF Lia Wil­liams re­turns to our screens two years to the he day since her last ap­pear­ance, as trou­bled Emma Barnes (right) in the Lewis two-parter The Ram­blin’ n’ Boy. She’s back in another UTV who­dun­nit, play­ing Mag­gie Markham (left), the or­gan­iser of a crime-writ­ing fes­ti­val, in Midsomer r Mur­ders. Lia, 50, first shot to fame as Joanna, one of the vir­gins in Mr Wroe’s Vir­gins, thee con­tro­ver­sial BBC2 drama se­ries in 1993. More re­cently, she starred as the grumpy doc’s ex ex-flame flame Edith Mont­gomery in Doc Martin through­out the se­ries shown on UTV in 2009. Midsomer Mur­ders, Wed­nes­day, 8pm, UTV.
