It’s all too plau­si­ble, and ter­ri­fy­ingly grip­ping, with Jack Lem­mon as the tech­ni­cian clock­ing that the di­als aren’t read­ing cor­rectly, and try­ing to avert a core melt­down.

The woman sit­ting next to her on the plane in­forms Sarah that her fam­ily will be ex­e­cuted if Sarah does not do as the plot­ters de­mand. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) 15 9PM, 3e Matthew Brod­er­ick (be­low) takes the ti­tle role in John Hughes’ much-loved teen com­edy about a cocky high-school stu­dent who de­cides to play tru­ant for the day, and drags his girl­friend (Mia Sara) and re­luc­tant mate (Alan Ruck) along for the ride. Jef­frey Jones is the dean of stu­dents de­ter­mined to prove that Ferris is fak­ing his ill­ness. Don’t Say A Word (2001) 15 11.15PM, ITV4 Hor­ror un­folds for psy­chol­o­gist Michael Dou­glas when vil­lain Sean Bean kid­naps his daugh­ter. One of his pa­tients has a code in her mem­ory that the vil­lain wants – doc­tor Dou­glas won’t take it ly­ing down.
