In 1941, Joss­lyn Hay, the 22nd Earl of Er­rol, was found shot dead in his car, just out­side Nairobi. This un­solved mur­der was the crime that in­spired the film White Mis­chief, and is the sub­ject of the first of a new se­ries of anal­y­sis and spec­u­la­tion.
