FRI­DAY, 12MN, RTÉ 2FM)))) ‘Pi­o­neer’ is a word that you can’t use very of­ten when re­fer­ring to music, but in the case of Blondie (pic­tured), it is com­pletely jus­ti­fied. Formed in the mid 1970s, they were there right in the mid­dle of Punk and New Wave in their home­town of New York City. This year they re­leased what many are call­ing of their finest al­bums, Pol­li­na­tor.
