We also meet Cathie Cut­ler-Evans who at­tempts to track down her birth mother, Adri­enne Pow­ell, who gave Cathie up af­ter be­ing un­able to of­fer her a sta­ble home as an un­mar­ried 19-year-old.

Teacher Emma, 47, is rushed to the emer­gency room, hav­ing suf­fered lifethreat­en­ing in­juries af­ter col­lid­ing with a bus while cy­cling home from work, leav­ing poor hus­band Mick des­per­ate with worry. Mean­while, 87-year-old Pamela has come to A&E, con­cerned she may have a blood clot in her leg. Luck­ily, she has lov­ing grand­daugh­ter Chloe to lean on.
