Murtagh left purring by a new addition

-

PURR ALONG (20-1) was always held in the highest regard by her former trainer William Muir and picked up a Group Three prize on her first start for Johnny Murtagh in the Lanwades Stud Stakes.

She, too, is being aimed at the Royal meeting. ‘We’ve always thought a lot of her, she came with a big reputation,’ Murtagh said

‘She was ready to run earlier in the year and was going really well in the spring.

‘She had few little hold-ups and we had to be patient and it paid off. Jamie gave her a lovely ride.

‘We didn’t know if she would handle the ground, but we knew she handled soft as she worked well on it the other day. It was worth taking the chance as there were no other races for her.

‘She’ll go for the Windsor Forest and she needed a run before that.’
