Trevor Deely search ‘could take another three weeks’
A SEARCH of scrubland in the case of missing Trevor Deely could take another three weeks to complete, gardaí believe.
Two weeks ago, gardaí began searching a three-acre area in West Dublin following information coming from a source who gardaí believe is credible.
Initially, detectives believed the search would take around three weeks but they now say it has proven to be more time-consuming than expected.
Gardaí are following over 700 lines of inquiry into the 22-yearold’s disappearance, but they believe the information they are currently working off could provide a breakthrough in the 17-year long search.
Despite nothing ‘tangible’ being found since this the search began, gardaí are still as hopeful.
‘This is still a mystery to gardaí and until we find a body, it is still very much a missing person investigation,’ a source said.
Gardaí began searching the scrubland in Chapelizod on the banks of the Liffey two weekends ago following information that suggested a known criminal was involved in bank worker’s disappearance in 2000.
