The law road safety chiefs want to pass

TELE­VI­SION view­ers will be fa­mil­iar with the cur­rent Road Safety Au­thor­ity ad cam­paign in­struct­ing drivers to ad­here to the pro­posed min­i­mum pass­ing dis­tance – even though the law has yet to pass. The cam­paign aims to ed­u­cate road users about the rec­om­mended pass­ing dis­tance, which could be­come law and carry a penalty of an €80 fine and three penalty points it is in­tro­duced.
