Cuckoo di­rec­tor dies

TRIB­UTES were paid last night to Mi­los For­man, the Os­car­win­ning di­rec­tor of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, fol­low­ing his death aged 86. The Czech­born film-maker, who died on Fri­day, was best known for the 1975 film, star­ring Jack Ni­chol­son, and Amadeus, about com­poser Mozart.

Cuckoo’s Nest, which starred Ni­chol­son as a pa­tient in a men­tal in­sti­tu­tion, won five Os­cars.

It took $100m at the box of­fice.
