I’m still in discussions with my lawyers

SéamuS mcLaughlin told the Irish mail on Sunday this week that he is still discussing matters with his legal team.

When it was put to him that aviva believed he had set fire to his pub, he said: ‘Right. Well that’s their opinion. No further comment.’ mr mcLaughlin, who was speaking from his car hire business in Greencastle, Co. Donegal, confirmed that he now runs ‘several businesses’.

The businessman, who had a previous fire claim against the company, told independent.ie: ‘a lot of what’s been printed so far isn’t an accurate version of what went on. What’s reported doesn’t do it justice. This case went on for nine years. Only bits and pieces have been printed.

‘The case was withdrawn on the advice of my legal team.’
